I love frasier
I've become slightly obsessed with Frasier because they've been replaying it in the mornings it has filled my "Scrubs" void, i am often late for work because i will sit and watch a whole episode rather than get ready. I made this because of the wonderful quote from Niles. I've gone to close to the edge though so i'm not sure if i'll get it framed. Got to go and see the fish man before he finishes for the day.

New Card
Its been out there for a little while but i thought i better pull my finger out and try and flog some more for those kind people at Artists' Cards, so please implore your local art gallery/card shop to get this in! If they sell enough then they will print another, so no pressure. In the meantime if it is not possible for you to bully your local retailer into buying a few hundred then you can buy them from me. £1.50 a card or £6 for a pack of 5 (p&p is free).
Christmas is coming and the cat has gotten fat.
Long time no type, but i've been looking after my baby and cat and have had a period of creative drought, so i hope you can forgive me and let me know what you think of my new project.......
It started out as a simple task, to design and make Christmas decorations for the Burton Art Gallery & Museum Shop (please like our page), so i've been mulling it over in my mind for a few weeks. We had a delivery of logs and i always find great satisfaction in piling them up with the round loggy bit facing out, a new Angie Lewin book arrived in the gallery shop which is absoloutely beautiful and i started noticing the dried seed heads of various wild plants in the hedgerows. These 3 factors combined have driven me to produce these....

Beautiful Dot Dot
It was my birthday last week, and i'd like to say thank you to my lovely family for making it a great few days. My dear sister and her beau made me this lovely picture of dot, I love it so much. He managed to get her chicky hair fluff in all it's glory.

I can't believe it, but its nearly that time for open studios. I've been busy shuffling around in my house sorting out pictures and deciding which ones to keep for the open studio event and which to send down to Honiton to show in the close to home exhibition. Please come and visit me from the 4th to the 18th of september (closed sundays and mondays) at 22 - 23 Butchers Row, Bideford Pannier Market, EX39 2DR. They have produced an amazing catalogue which is full of Devon Artists and craftspeople and can be picked up from most galleries and Tourist Information centres in Devon, if you would like me to post you one please let me know. My favourite is a lady called Rah Rivers, find out more about her work here. This piece is called Angel and his love and i will most certainly be taking a trip down to rattery to view hers and lydia corbetts work.

Christine Lindo

I've got 4 pieces of work on display in the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society annual summer exhibtion. Its a really interesting show of local people's work. My mum is exhibiting too, she will be taking part in the Devon Open Studios as well in September. Shes a collage artist, she makes her pictures from cut up pieces of magazines.
Real Nappies have been on my mind lately, I decided to get some and give it a go, but when i started looking i realised what a nappy minefield i was in. Pockets, wraps, bamboo and hemp inserts, aplix or poppers, what on earth does all this jargon mean?? Also the brands a tots bots bamboozle or a organic, a bum genius or a wonderoo? I've spent many hours this week perusing nappy websites and in the end i decided to bite the biscuit and buy some bum genius pocket nappies, only once i had done this i realised i'd purchased the V3 and the V4 will shortly be with us, AGGGHHHHHH!!! Don't ask me the difference between V3 and V4. Why are they so expensive? All it is, is a bit of fabric why can they cost up to £20 for 1 nappy??? If anyone can recommend a nappy then all help is muchly appreciated.
Also Dot Dot is crawling. Its amazing how fast they learn, one day she wasn't the next she was. Our house is danger central, everywhere i look i see another accident waiting to happen, i can't even leave her for 2 minutes to go the loo unless i barricade her in somewhere. I found her the other day swinging the paint scraper around and chewing on a bit of old wallpaper. I've not been being to creative lately but would like to go to the art school and do an evening class in ceramics. I was looking at the Reg Lloyd collection in the Burton the other day and felt totally inspired to go and make some sgraffito pots and staffordshire dogs.

Changing rooms
So this is how we're living at the moment, not very inspiring, almost depressing. I get these moments at the beginning of a project, when I think this will be easy, in a couple of weeks it will be done and dusted and we'll be living in a palace! I ripped off all the wallpaper and then i started chipping away at the artex on the ceiling. Halfway through i realised what a mammoth task i had undertaken and suddenly thought, "I should have finished some of the other rooms before i started this". If only i could just paint it, Bill who is usually right says we must fill and sand every wall, even the ceiling! So yes this is pretty much the state of the whole house at the moment, not one room finished. I will keep you posted on any major changes ( I wish).
Just thought i'd show you this picture. The words are from a song by the Be Good Tanyas. Blue Horse is one of those albums you can keep coming back to and it never gets old.
